My day started off having coffee with friends at Panera Bread. I am not sure if I finished my coffee or if I had any at all.
EMT’s took care of me. The Staff at St Mary Mercy Hospital took care of me.
I had a hemorrhagic stroke. The doctor told my husband that if the bleed didn’t stop, then they wouldn’t be able to do anything because of the location of the bleed in the basal ganglia.
2 days later, the bleed stopped. ICU and on to 3 weeks of in-house Rehab.
Little steps, even now. Improvements. Celebrations. And the usual things that go with aging.
February 2025, I joined a gym, for the warm pool. I started swimming before I could walk and I was so happy to be back in the water in a 91-degree salt pool. I started by using a “noodle”, then a float belt. 7 months later, I swam all by myself. Out of the pool, I move slow and am very careful.
I wrote a book in 2021. A stroke. A teeny, broken blood vessel. I would like to update the story.
Spoiler Alert. I am still swimming and hanging out in the world.
